About Bidro
Bringing much needed innovation to bid management.
Bidro exists so technical SMEs stop burning their best people's time writing proposals for work they should never have chased — and stop winning work at prices that lose money.
Why we're building this
The most expensive document in your business is a proposal you shouldn't have written.
In most consulting and engineering firms, the bid decision happens in a corridor. A tender lands, someone senior says “we should go for this,” and three people lose a week to a proposal that had a one-in-ten chance from the start — or worse, wins at a fee that quietly loses money.
The tools that exist are built for the document: proposal software, pricing sheets, CRM pipelines. Nothing is built for the decision that comes before it. That's the gap Bidro fills — a two-minute discipline that tells you whether to bid and what the lowest safe fee is, before anyone opens Word.
We're building it for technical SMEs first, because that's where a single bad bid hurts most: the people writing the proposal are the same people delivering the work.
The people
Built by two of us, close to the problem
Alistair Stafford
Co-founder
Alistair leads product and growth at Bidro. He kept watching technical teams pour their best people into proposals that were long shots from the start — and built Bidro to put a two-minute bid / no-bid discipline in front of the writing. Right now he’s focused on getting the decision engine into the hands of the first engineering and consulting firms, and shaping the scoring model around how they actually price work.
Harry Pugsley
Co-founder
The man behind the scenes. Harry is focused on expanding the network and connecting with the first engineering and consulting firms.
Technical co-founder
Co-founder — HIRING!
We’re looking for a technical co-founder to own the engineering and build the decision engine with us. If turning a sharp product idea into a fast, reliable product sounds like you, we’d love to talk.
